Biography

Adam Cook BSc (Hons) Acupuncture, LicAc, MBAcC

Adam is an experienced acupuncturist, registered with both the BAcC and BMAS.
As well as working in both TCM and 5-Element styles of acupuncture, he regularly
incorporates Cupping and Gua Sha into treatments. For the last 3 years Adam has
owned and managed the Jade Pathway Clinic.

Having initially trained as a musician at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music
and Drama in Glasgow (receiving BA Hons with teaching endorsement), Adam
worked as a musician and teacher, whilst simultaneously pursuing a passion for
scuba diving, which lead to teaching both recreational and technical diving as
well as first aid. After several years living and working outside the UK (Turkey,
New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the USA) he returned to the creative
industries in a technical role, working in broadcasting on the installation of
production facilities for the BBC, ITV, BT and other small broadcasting
companies.

Motivated by a desire to help people, and missing the interaction of being a
teacher, Adam decided to retrain as a therapist. Whilst searching for the right
modality to train in, he received acupuncture for a back injury and became
fascinated by Chinese Medicines holistic approach to disease/pain/disharmony,
which enables not only symptom relief, but a structured and methodical
approach for addressing the underlying root cause, to create long-term change.
This led Adam to study integrated TCM and 5-Element acupuncture at the
College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, where he received a first
class BSc honours degree.

Adam regularly attends post-graduate courses on subjects ranging from Sports
medicine to mental health, and is passionate about continuing to expand his
knowledge to provide the best possible treatment.
