Holistic Facials

The power of touch, massage and quality products can heal on all levels.  Holistic facials can be seen as “relaxing with benefits”. 

Emotional benefits:

Facial treatments feel good, offering gentle, soothing relaxation.  Facials include a variety of creams, that moisturize the skin, smell good, and relieve stress as well as encourage peace of mind and contentment.  Facials are not a miracle in an hour but they do give you a fresh start to a healthier and balanced complexion.  Regular facials can help you maintain optimal skin health and encourage a healthy skin care routine at home.

Cleansing:

All skin types benefit from a thorough cleansing routine.  The skin is continually shredding dead skin cells which can distort the texture and appearance of the skin.  Deep cleansing ensures that dirt or debris cannot become trapped under the skin.

Exfoliation:

Fine, abrasive materials can be massaged over the surface of the skin to remove the hardened, rougher outer layer of skin and any excess dead cells which may not have been removed by the cleansing.  Exfoliation stimulates the flow of blood to the surface of the skin and products applied to the face following exfoliation are more easily absorbed into the skin.  Exfoliation can encourage new skin cells which can help the skin appear brighter and clearer. 

Face mask:

A face mask removes surface dirt and dead cells from the skin.  Masks can be used to stimulate and refine the skin, or soothe and nourish.

A face mask acts as a quick pick- up.  It perks up circulation, soothes and relaxes facial muscles and makes the complexion appear brighter and fresher.

The mask is left on for approximately 15 minutes which is an ideal time to introduce a relaxing hand or foot massage.  The combination of the Spa Facial Massage and a hand or foot massage can give the treatment the feel of an ‘all over body treatment’.

Massage:

Facial massage can be carried out using cream or oil.  The chemistry of the products used during the facial massage may improve the condition and texture of the skin and deeply moisturise the skin.  Massage improves the lymphatic drainage of the face which can help combat the signs of ageing.

The treatment is done lying comfortably on a treatment couch. 

After care:

It is normal to feel peaceful and sleepy after a treatment.  Drinking plenty of water can continue the hydration of the skin.
